Jack Chesler

As a donor to the David Posnack Jewish Community Center and other charitable organizations, Jack felt strongly about attempting to have his parents remembered for their deeds, accomplishments, and heart. They, more than anyone else, taught him the importance of character, integrity, and helping others; and through their hard work and sacrifices, they provided him with the education he would need for his future.

Jack’s father died unexpectedly before Jack was mature enough to realize and understand what he had tried to do for the benefit of his family and our entire community. Jack truly wished that when he was younger, he could have been wiser to understand his role as a patriarch—what he did for Jack, his family, the Jewish community, and the community at large.

Jack’s mother was the educator, the protector, and the tie that bound their entire family: grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Everyone came to her for advice, compassion, or just to listen to her wisdom. If born in a later generation, Jack’s mom would have been not just a matriarch but a leader of all.

Jack knew his parents would be proud of their son, knowing that he participated with numerous legacy programs that will benefit the Jewish community and other organizations to honor them, Leon and Lillian Chesler, the two most important persons in his lifetime.
